Iowa Democrats and Republicans will vote on Tuesday to determine who is on the November ballot representing their party.
An assortment of offices will be up for election at the federal, state and county levels. Some of them are highly contested, such as most of the federal offices as well as the Republican race for governor.
Voting: Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. You must be affiliated with a party to vote in the election.
Polling Locations: Ames has 24 polling locations. To find your specific polling location, follow this link. At the polling place, you will need to provide proof of your identity and where you live. You can do this by providing:
- A valid form of ID such as a passport or driver’s license
- Proof of residence: if your ID doesn’t have your current address, bring a bank statement or your lease agreement
- Attester: if you can’t prove your identity with a valid ID or proof of residence, a register voter can attest for you

Since Gov. Kim Reynolds announced her decision not to seek a third term, five Republican candidates have put their hat into the ring to become the next governor of Iowa.
