While we don’t have physical offices or general phone line, we strive to ensure you can confidently reach us.

Newsroom

Here are the most common reasons to contact our newsroom.

Volunteering: If you have an interest in joining our reporting/photography team, fill out this form. No experience required and we’ll work with your schedule. We will teach you, whether you’re a student or a retiree. (We have both of those on staff!) There are also opportunities outside of reporting. For anyone seeking an internship, fill out this form.

News Tip: If you have a tip or idea — whether it’s a topic that’s been on your mind or something you saw or a subject you want to know more about it — fill out this form. If it’s a particular idea, the more specific you can be, the better.

Press Release: If you have a press release that is relevant to the Ames community, send it to [email protected]. Please include a contact person, and ways to get in touch with them. The press release should include the who, what, when, where and why, and it’s always useful if the pitch includes a local/Ames/Story County-focused angle. Let us know why your information is something our community needs to know.

Calendar Submission: If you have an event you want to submit for our Tuesday newsletter — Ames, Set, Go! — email the event information (what, where, when, summary) to [email protected]. Including a URL to the event that has details is also big plus — even a Facebook event page is okay. If you have any related photos or images that we could use, please include them as attachments.

Story Submission: If you have a story (text, photos, video) that you did for a class or working on in your own time and want to know if the Voice might be interested in publishing it, fill out this form.
