Cyclones in the Community: Iowa State gridders spend afternoon with Boys & Girls Club

DES MOINES – Carver Elementary School’s gymnasium was transformed into a field of mentorship and athletic development as Iowa State football players spent Monday afternoon leading drills and building relationships at the Boys & Girls Club. The clinic offered kids the chance to practice drills and skills while interacting with the athletes. Zaimir Hawk, a redshirt junior defensive lineman, said the club shaped his childhood, so he felt compelled to return as a mentor.

Cyclones earn NFL looks, opportunities

The 2026 NFL entry process highlighted the depth of Iowa State’s talent, with several key players moving on to professional opportunities. Leading the class were high-round draft picks Tyler Onyedim – who transferred to Texas A&M for his final collegiate season – (66th overall to the Denver Broncos) and Domonique Orange (82nd overall to the Minnesota Vikings).

WBB: Cyclones fall to Syracuse in first round

Iowa State’s season ended in a 72-63 loss to Syracuse on Saturday, despite a heroic performance from star center Audi Crooks. The Cyclones couldn’t overcome a scorching second-quarter stretch by the Orange, and while Crooks put up a remarkable 37 points, Iowa State struggled with inconsistent offense and poor shooting from beyond the arc.

MBB: Jefferson’s injury looms large in opening win against Tennessee State

Two and a half minutes into No. 2 seed Iowa State’s First Round game against No. 15 seed Tennessee State, the 17,192 in attendance fell quiet as consensus All-American Joshua Jefferson landed awkwardly. Jefferson was helped off the floor and returned to the bench in a boot and on crutches. In his absence, Iowa State showed no drop-off, overwhelming Tennessee State in a 108-74 win Friday at Enterprise Center.

WBB: Cyclones, Orange clash in March Madness opener

The Cyclones (22-9, 10-8 Big 12) head into the NCAA Tournament in Storrs, Connecticut, with a 23-23 all-time record. Iowa State Women’s Basketball will face No. 9 seed Syracuse Orange (23-8, 12-6 ACC) on Saturday, marking the program’s 24th appearance in the tournament.

MBB: No. 6 Iowa State rallies late, stuns No. 2 Houston

Nate Heise drilled a clutch go-ahead 3-pointer, and Tamin Lipsey grabbed a crucial offensive rebound in the closing seconds as the sixth-ranked Iowa State Cyclones men’s basketball team stormed back to defeat the Big 12-leading and second-ranked Houston Cougars 70–67 on Monday night.

MBB: Iowa State dominates Kansas

Iowa State Cyclones men’s basketball forward Milan Momcilovic scored 18 points to lead then fifth-ranked Iowa State to a convincing 74–56 victory over the then ninth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks on Saturday. The win not only avenged an earlier loss but also brought an end to Kansas’ impressive eight-game winning streak.
