A late goal by Dallas Center-Grimes tied its game against the Ames Little Cyclones at 1-1 on Thursday.
The first half was scoreless as both teams traded possession but struggled to generate quality chances. Neither side appeared in rhythm heading into halftime.
The game opened up in the second half. Ames struck first when Samuel Sadow scored following a chaotic collision to give the Little Cyclones a 1-0 lead.
Dallas Center-Grimes answered 11 minutes later when Colin Mandernach found the equalizer to make it 1-1.
Neither team broke through during the final 21 minutes, and the game ended in a draw.
Next time: Ames travels to Mediacom Stadium to face Des Moines North on May 27.
