After the loss to Ankeny Centennial, the Ames girls soccer team was looking for a rebound when it hosted Valley.
Valley struck first in the seventh minute when Olivia Rotich (8) scored. The momentum continued from there.
The Tigers added two more before halftime, as Ella Clayton (20) and Frances Huckaby (22) scored to give Valley a 3-0 lead at the break.
Ames responded in the second half when Kiersten Hinson (16) scored on a penalty kick, but it wasn’t enough. Eight minutes into the half, Huckaby and Clayton each add their second goals of the night.
Valley moves to 10-2-1 on the season, while Ames falls to 7-3-2.
