Waterloo East visited Ames seeking its first win of the season. It didn’t happen.
From the opening moments, the Ames boys controlled the game and never relinquished momentum.
Within 10 minutes, the Little Cyclones had built a 5-0 lead behind goals from Samuel Sadow, Jamison Lynch, Matthias Roettger, Adam Benbah and Joshua Thompson.
Joshua Thompson and Tristan Jones each recorded hat tricks, and additional goals came from Dylan Vargas and Tristen Runge.
Ames led 14-0 at halftime, and the game was called early due to the lopsided score.
Next: Ames travels to Johnston on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
